2007 Successes

• Raised over $80,000—200% more than the previous year
• Conducted regularly scheduled castle tours—tours alone raised $10,000 in 2007
• Received a grant from the National Trust to help fund historical planning and architectural analysis
• Began working with outside expertise including Mike Garavalia, historical architect and a strucutral engineer to guide our restoration activities
• Passed a brick shear test—proved that the castle's outside brick walls are structurally sound
Made many small improvements to the castle
• Began to work with Mule Creek State Prison to repair and create windows at the castle
• Established identity standards and began to build the "Preston Castle Foundation" identity
• Hosted successful, well-attended events
Redesigned the website to include online donations and ticket purchases
• Enhanced public relations and Internet presence
